Halloween brick builds: haunted houses, ghost ships and illusions
Our library has 11 Halloween designs, each with an illustrated step-by-step instruction book and a complete parts list for real LEGO® bricks: haunted houses in three sizes, a ghost ship, a giant jack-o’-lantern, a raven and optical-illusion sculptures, from about 500 to 4,300 pieces.
They are original designs (MOCs, “my own creations” in builder slang), not official sets. Members open every design for $20/month or $199/year, and a few library designs are free each week. Bricks are sold separately.

Haunted house instructions in three sizes
The haunted house is the classic Halloween build, and the size decides how long it lives on your table before October ends. Ours come as Haunted House on the Hill (about 700 pieces), Haunted Victorian Mansion (Starter) (about 1,100 pieces) and Haunted Victorian Mansion (about 4,000 pieces). The small one fits a mantel and is the quickest to build; the large Victorian mansion is a project for several weekends, with a tower, a wrap-around porch, a graveyard behind an iron fence and bare twisted trees.
If you are looking for a haunted house MOC to build with family, start small: a few hundred steps keeps children interested, and the parts list is short enough to buy in one order. Builders with a collection can sort the library by “Most of my bricks” after adding their Rebrickable parts list, to see which design they can build with the least shopping.
Sculptures, illusions and tricks
Not every Halloween build is a house. Several of ours play with how you look at them: a lattice that reads as a ghost from the front and a skull from the side, a bust that turns on a turntable to show something else from the back, and a pile of candy that casts a witch’s silhouette on the wall when you light it with a phone torch. The instruction book for each explains where to stand or how to set up the light; no lights or electronics are included.
The display sculptures (the jack-o’-lantern, the raven on its stack of books, the owl on an autumn branch and the ghost ship) are larger builds made for a shelf or a mantel through the whole season.
