A Christmas photo gift they build: your photo as brick wall art
Turn a favorite photo (the grandchildren, the family dog, the beach trip or the old house) into framed brick wall art. Your World in Bricks designs the picture from your photo, with step-by-step instructions and a parts list for real LEGO® bricks, for $19 at any size, ready within 24 hours.
Bricks are sold separately: about $160–$220 for a small framed picture at LEGO® Pick a Brick prices, before tax and shipping. Unlike a printed photo gift, it is built by hand, by you or by them.

Who it’s for
- Grandparents: the grandchildren on a sled, at the beach or in matching pajamas. Give it built for the wall, or as a kit the grandchildren help build on a visit.
- Pet owners: the dog or cat they talk about most. Pets with clear markings and a simple background come out especially well.
- A partner: the wedding day, the trip where you got engaged, or the view from the first apartment.
- The whole family: the lake cabin, the farm or the family home, as a picture rather than a 3D model.
- The brick builder in the family: a build with a subject nobody else can buy.
Choosing the photo
- One clear subject. One to three people, one pet or one building reads best. Crowded group photos lose faces at brick scale; choose a large size or crop to the people who matter most.
- A calm background. Sky, sand, snow, a lawn or a plain wall. Busy backgrounds are simplified, but the subject stands out more against a quiet one.
- Daylight and a sharp focus. Phone photos are fine; dark, blurry or heavily filtered ones aren’t.
- Backs and silhouettes work. A family walking away down a beach, like the picture above, is recognizable from shapes and colors alone, and avoids the hardest part: small faces.
- It is a stylized picture, not a photo-real portrait. Shapes are redrawn in bricks; expect the people and places to be recognizable rather than exact.
- Use a photo you took or have permission to use.
You choose from 3 looks (bold shapes, painterly, classic mosaic), 4 shapes and 4 brick-built frame styles in 8 colors, and see the finished size and an estimated piece count before you order. Mosaic or relief?

Giving it
- Built and framed. Build it in the evenings before Christmas and wrap it like any framed picture. A small picture is a manageable first build; a large one is a statement piece that needs more time.
- As a kit. Print the instructions, bag the bricks and give both in a box, with a printout of the original photo on top so they can see what they’re building.
- As a reveal. Wrap the instructions without the photo; the picture appears row by row as they build.

Pick a Brick times are LEGO®’s own US estimates (LEGO® Help: delivery timeframes, as of October 2026), and December is busy for every seller. Pick a Brick shows which pieces are Bestseller and which are Standard once the list is uploaded to your bag; our guides compare Pick a Brick and BrickLink and explain uploading a BrickLink wanted list. Running late? Give the printed instruction book on Christmas morning and let the bricks follow.

Questions
Can I turn a family photo into a brick picture?
Yes. Upload the photo and choose the look, shape, size and frame; we design it as framed brick wall art with instructions and a parts list, for $19 at any size, within 24 hours. Bricks are sold separately.
How much does it cost in total?
The design is $19. Bricks for the bold-shapes look with a classic frame are about $160–$220 for a small picture up to about $470–$670 for a large one, at LEGO® Pick a Brick prices before tax and shipping.
Will faces be recognizable?
At brick scale a face is a few studs across, so the picture is stylized. Hair, clothing colors, poses and the setting carry the likeness. For faces, choose a close-up and a larger size.
Does it hang on the wall?
Yes. Every picture gets a brick back with two wall hangers, and a frame built from bricks unless you choose no frame.
